This Adalat help the people to settle their disputes through friendly reconciliation. The parties of the disputes get faster and cheaper mechanism for their grievance redressal. With the normal court procedures, the court litigation would take years to get settled. This offers most hassle free solution for the cases pending in different courts. There are also a lot of people now willing to settle their disputes this way.
Lok Adalat helps to reduce the workload in the courts, which are overburdened. The decisions taken through this Adalat would be final and compulsory and no appeal would be considered against the decision.
There was decrease in the number of pending cases since July 2014 and there were decrease in the percentage of cases which were incomplete or not ready for hearing from July to December. Great effort from the side of bar and bench is necessary to control pendency rate.
Lok Adalat will help to reduce the pendency to a great extent. The decrease percentage of pendency cases shows that the problem is getting solved with the group effort. People want such move from the Indian judiciary which will help them to settle the matters without much problem, spending least possible money and in a friendly way. The faster settlement of the cases is the main convenience people are getting through the National Lok Adalat.
