4th Day Was Not So Brilliant For Indian Squad Touring South Africa

Even though the conditions in South Africa has worked in the favor of Indian squad, but the fourth day in the second cricket Test was a brilliant day for South African team. India were reduced to 35/3 chasing 287. It looks like starting at a series defeat.

Ashwin utilized the balls nicely, and especially against the left-handers. South African batsman Dean Elgar said, “Their seamers were quite effective in conditions they seem quite used to bowling in.”

Undoubtedly the SA side had a trouble time on Monday, but Tuesday’s performance was thankful. Elgar and de Villiers put on 141 runs for 3rd wicket and a good base was created for the team. The second innings ended on 258. The highest run scorer was opener with 61 runs.

Elgar said, at the post-match press conference, their main focus was to bat as long as they can and the first target was to reach drinks. Initially, when Vernon Philander and Faf du Plessis were batting, it was a tough start, but later scoring became easier.

The greatest blow for team India came when Virat Kohli was trapped lbw by Lungi Ngidi and it was massive for the SA knowing he will not bat.

On the fifth day more seven wickets are required but it is not known how. The South African team need to execute the processes.
