A Tribute To Colonel Santosh Mahadik

With profound grief and sorrow the editorial team of SRJ News announces the passing away of Commanding Officer (CO) OF 41 Rashtriya Rifles, Colonel Santosh Mahadik, who was shot in a gun battle with terrorists in the Manigah forests of Kupwara District of North Kashmir on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.

He was an officer of the elite 21 Para Special Forces and was leading his troops in the operation from the front when infiltrated terrorists from across the border started firing from hidden place in the forest.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed offered tribute to the martyred solider and conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family. He prayed for the peace of departed soul.

In his earlier bravery act in countering terrorist operations in the North east as part of Operation Rhino he had been decorated with a Sena Medal for gallantry.
