Amit Shah, Ajit Doval conducts high-level meeting over Kashmir situation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a high level meeting Sunday with Home Secretary Rajiv Cauba and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval amid the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

A day before Indian Army foiled attempts of Border Action Team of Pakistan on a forward post along the LoC in Keran sector of the state. About six intruders were killed.

The BAT attempt was made on the night of July 31 and August 1. Forces have also recovered cache of sniper rifle, mine and IED containing Pakistan markings.

It is learned a Union Cabinet meeting could be held Monday morning at the residence of Prime Minister in 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.

Sources add that Bharatiya Janata Party Working President JP Nadda too could hold key meeting with party workers later on Monday over the prevailing tensions in Kashmir.

About 35,000 additional forces have been lately deployed in the Valley and a team of Rapid Action Force in the Poonch sector of Kashmir.

The Center released an advisory on Friday for the Amarnath Yatris to curtail their trip and return back to their place to the earliest.

Delhi said the advisory was issued considering prevailing security situation in the Valley.
