Apple Redesigning Its Physical Stores
Apple will be redesigning its stores and the first to get new look will be the new two-story location in San Francisco.
The iDevice giant has about 480 stores across the world.
Thursday was the 15th anniversary of the first store of iPhone maker in Virginia and California, and on the day the company provided a glimpse of the new look of Apple Store.
Apple Stores are generally renowned for elegant design.
Apple analyst Tim Bejarin of Creative Strategies said, “This is a chance to reimagine a retailing concept that Apple had already nearly perfected.”
Lately the sales of Apple’s iPhones and iPads have been dropping and it is believed the new look of the stores could boost up the sales.
The redesigned San Francisco store is scheduled to open for public on Saturday. It features a 42-foot-tall sliding glass door.
Apple’s retailing chief, Angela Ahrendts, said the redesign is not only a retail store but it is a company statement. It is said the new layout culminates two years of research.
Ahrendts added it is like their fault that retail is changing and so they realized something different need to be done with their physical space.
