Article 370 revoke was major step to ensure safety, security: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Article 370 stripping was a major step by the Center to ensure security and safety of the Kashmir Valley and elimination of terrorism from India.

Addressing to the NSG commandos of the elite counter-terror and counter-hijack force at a function in Haryana’s Maesar on Tuesday he added, “To eradicate terrorism from J&K and protect Kashmir, the Prime Minister has taken a huge step by revoking Article 370, we will be able to restore long-term peace in Kashmir.”

He further said that traditional wars are not fought anymore and the country has been a victim of terrorism sponsored by western neighbor Pakistan.

Amit Shah said for any civilized society terrorism is a curse and victory can be achieved by the patriotism, courage and strength of the commandos.

He reminded that no other country has fought terrorism for such long period as India has and hence now the government has zero tolerance policy towards it.

In another address to a rally in Shirur’s Karad the minister said the Maharashtra elections will see end of opposition NCP-Congress.

Shah was on a roadshow in Shirur assembly constituency of Pune.
