It was a last-ball thriller Friday evening at the Dubai International Stadium before India lifted the Asia Cup trophy defeating Bangladesh by three wickets. It was a great game of cricket. It was a nail biting final.

Hats-off to Bangladesh too for their splendid fight and attitude for not giving up. Despite missing key players, Tamim and Shakib, the team played out of their skins.

Special mention is for Kedar Jadhav who performed extremely good despite his hamstring injury. He is a roaring lion who wants to roar even when injured.

Skipper Rohit Sharma was wonderful with his bowling changes and of course led the side really well to the seventh Asia Cup title. However, India still have a lot of areas to work up like the middle order is getting more worrying and ahead of the World Cup 2019 in England the Men in Blue need to come out of the issue.

Following the big win captain Rohit said, “If you have a team like that, the captain will always look good. I try and do my job but if you don’t have the support of the rest of the 10 players out on the field, it’s never easy.”

Rohit made 317 runs in the tournament, just 25 runs less than the top scorer Shikhar Dhawan, who emerged as Man of the Series.

Starting October 4 India will host West Indies for two Tests, five ODIs and three T20s.

India – 223/7 in 50 overs
Bangladesh – 222 in 48.3 overs

Top batsmen – Liton Das (121 in 117 balls) and Rohit Sharma (48 runs in 55 balls)
