Asus Unveils Zenbo Robot At Computex Trade Show In Taipei; Priced $599
The Computex trade show in Taipei had something big to showcase earlier today. Asus unveiled its cute little talking robot called Zenbo.
Priced at $599, the robot is two feet in height and rolls on wheels. It is pitched by Asus as a personal assistant to help look after elderly or read stories for kids.
As of now the released date has not been mentioned, but exciting features were announced such as the Zenbo can show animated face or else can also be used for making video calls and streaming videos.
Briefing to the press the Asus chairman Jonney Shih demonstrated the little robot with voice commands asking questions and requesting for taking photographs.
However, it is being considered Zenbo could be something like Siri on wheels or an Amazon Echo.
Shih added the robot can turn off the TV, dim the lights and control other household appliances too.
He said further, “For decades, humans have dreamed of owning such a companion: one that is smart, dear to our hearts, and always at our disposal… Our ambition is to enable robotic computing for every household.”
Asus didn’t mention anything about the technical details at the press conference.
