Bengaluru Gets Own Logo

Bengaluru now has its own logo. It becomes the first city in India to have it to signify cosmopolitan culture, 480-year history, sense of belonging and futuristic outlook.

The Brand Bengaluru logo is selected from 1,350 entries and its tagline is ‘Bengaluru – Be U’ (be you). It is believed the new milestone will build the city’s image on global stage.

According to IT-BT and tourism minister Priyank Kharge the new own identity badge of the city will be used to enhance tourism in Karnataka.

The font of the logo has been designed by Rushi Patel and M Venkateswara Rao. Both are the founders of Nammur design firm. Pate, was earlier a banker.

They have used red color in the first two letters, B, E, and to the last letter, U, too of the word Bengaluru to highlight the tagline Be U. U and U letters in the seventh and eighth place of the word resemble the vowel, oo, in Kannada.

In the presence of the city’s development minister J George, Bengaluru mayor R Sampath Raj, Gandhinagar MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao and Shantinagar MLA NA Haris the logo was unveiled at Vidhana Soudha on Sunday.
