BJP is top spenders in advertisements: Facebook

No stone is left unturned and political parties are giving a final thrust to their campaigning after fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Conquering digital territory has become the real fight for them in the economy where smartphones and internet have become affordable.

There are a total of 4,513 pages and 281 of those are identified by India Today’s Data Intelligence Unit as pro-BJP pages.

Facebook has revealed a measurement lately and opened the political advertisements archive to the public from February 21. The chart shows pro-Modi pages are leading.

The official page of Bharatiya Janata Party and fan pages of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are the top spenders on Facebook ads.

There are a total of 4,513 pages and 281 of those are identified by India Today’s Data Intelligence Unit as pro-BJP pages.

It is learned the 281 pro-BJP pages have spent about Rs 7.8 crore on 18,454 ads.

It is further found that expenditure by the pages is about 39 percent of the total ad expenditure of the party.

The spending of Congress in this segment has been Rs 1.15 crore.

Meanwhile, the top spenders were BJP with Rs 2.6 crore, Bharat ke Mann Ki Baat with Rs 2.2 crore, Nation with NaMo with Rs 1.2 crore and My First Vote for Modi with Rs 1.1 crore.
