Bollywood Actress Sunny Leone Most Searched on Google in 2014
The Canadian born Indian former porn star Sunny Leone has not just made a successful entry into Bollywood, but has also won the admirations of the people over the internet as she has become the most searched personality on Google in India in 2014. She has also piped out the popular politician and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pushed him to the second position in the most searched personalities list on Google.
The Google Year in Search details has been let out recently and it is a unique outlook of the bigger interests of Google searches on major events, personalities and hot searchers that have been doing rounds in 2014.The year 2014 was a year when online presence really mattered, be it a political party or prime ministerial candidate or a local dhaba.
The personalities search on Google in 2014 has Sunny Leone perched on top position, followed by PM Narendra Modi with Salman Khan hogging the third spot. Katrina Kaif was the fourth most searched celebrity on Google in 2014 and Deepika Padukone bagged the 5th spot. Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra were more popular in Google searches than Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood. The biggest surprise of all was that Ragini MMS 2 was the most searched movie on Google in 2014 and Sunny Leone’s hot performance in the movie and her online popularity might be the reason why the movie became the top searched Bollywood movie of 2014. Salman Khan’s Kick was the second most searched film on Google in 2014 followed by his Jai Ho film. Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year was the fourth most searched Bollywood movie on Google in 2014.
The most searched event on Google this year was Elections 2014 and after politics the trending topic was FIFA 2014. iPhone 6 also had its fair share of searches on Google in 2014 and was placed third in trending searches. GATE 15 was the fourth most searched trending topic on Google.
The top searches across categories all went to popular websites. IRCTC was the most searched website on Google in 2014. Flipkart also had its fair share of queries all throughout the year on Google. SBI online was the third most searched option in website categories followed by Snapdeal. PNR Status, which helps you to know the status of your railway ticket online found a fourth position in this category.
The Managing Director of Google India, Rajan Anandan, has said that the findings of the Google’s Year of Search are a clear indication that the nation has now growing interest in issues related to national importance.
