BREAKING: Earthquake Shakes Pakistan, Hundreds Dead, 1000+ Injured


At least 123 dead in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan and 1,000 injured.
11 girl students died and 30 other hospitalized in Takhar province of northern Afghanistan while trying to escape.
15 killed and 100 injured in eastern province of Nangarhar along the Pakistani border.
Thirty houses destroyed in Jalalabad.

A 7.5-magnitude earthquake has hit Pakistan, Afghanistan and India on Monday at 2:10 p.m. Afghanistan time (5:10 a.m. ET).

Police officials and TV news channel reports at least 16 people have been killed in Pakistan.

According to US Geological Survey the earthquake was centered around 28 mmiles south-southwest of Jarm in Afghanistan. Cars in capital Kabul stopped in the streents and residents started screaming out of homes, schools and offices.

The quake was felt about 45 seconds in Kabul.

The extent of damage is yet not known.

Pakistan’s meteorological service estimated the earthquake was 8.1 magnitude and it lastest for about 90 seconds.

An earthquake in 2005 of 7.6 magnitude killed 70,000 people in northern Pakistan.
