Chidambaram urges Congress to attack government in winter session of Parliament

The winter session of Parliament has begun and it is expected Congress may attack the Modi government with expose to the utter mismanagement of economy.

It is learned senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram has urged his party members to expose the government in terms of economy not doing well.

The 74-year-old is currently in judicial custody in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. He is alleged to have role in the INX Media money laundering case. He would be missing the winter session that will run till December 13 amid concerns over automobile sector crisis, rising unemployment and growth of the economy.

Noted economist and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would lead the attack in the Rajya Sabha.

A tweet posted on the official Twitter handle read, “When parliament opens today, Congress must lead the opposition to expose the utter mismanagement of the economy. Which aspect of the economy is doing well? Not one.”

Chidambaram’s Twitter account is being maintained by his family.

Meanwhile, a report on Business Standard revealed consumer demand in villages fell 8.8 percent between July 2017 and July 2018. It however cited unpublished data.
