Chowkidar had courage to conduct surgical strikes in land, sea, space: Modi
Launching Bharatiya Janata Party’s election campaign in western Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi said his government has shown courage in conducting a surgical strike across all spheres – land, sky and space.
He addressed a rally in Meerut saying, “Our scientists were demanding for testing of shooting down of satellite in space, their government postponed.”
Modi was referring to the anti-satellite missile capability of the country that was successfully tested a day before.
He added the 2019 Lok Sabha elections is contest between his decision government and an indecisive past, referring to Congress-led UPA government.
The PM further said, “To make the India of 21st century strong & for its security, this decision should have been taken long ago. But it kept getting delayed.”
Modi often calls himself as the ‘chowkidar’ of India and in his address he added that the chowkidar’s government had courage to conduct surgical strikes on all the three spheres.
He continued saying, “India should develop, India should be secure from enemies.”
Modi said for the first time India is witnessing such a government that knows how to deliver.
In 2014 too Modi launched his party’s campaign blitz from the city. He said soon NDA’s report card will be released with demand from opposition to justify why UPA had failed earlier.
Modi paid tribute to father of RLD leader Ajit Singh and former prime minister Choudhary Charan Singh.
