Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah said Tuesday the manifesto released by Congress is a bunch of lies.

He added, “In its manifesto, Congress has pledged to dilute the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). Congress should clarify whether it wants to encourage or demoralize the armed forces.”

The BJP chief said Congress has promised to repeal Section 124A of the Indian Panel Code and this will bring smiles on faces of separatists and terrorists.

Shah further continued that repealing AFSPA means India could face serious consequences as it is like a major tool for armed forces against terror organizations.

He said that Omar Abdullah, who is an ally to Congress, is looking for a separate Prime Minister for Kashmir and so Rahul Gandhi need to answer whether he agrees to it too.

Shah added that his party will never allow such things to happen in Kashmir as the region is an integral part of India and it cannot be taken away by anyone.

Shah alleged Congress is trying to shield Karti Chidambaram by promising in the manifesto that bail should be granted to everyone despite seriousness of crime.

The BJP chief further added, “Now Congress says that the expenditure on income support to the poor will be borne by the Centre and states. But there is a possibility that states can excuse themselves saying they are already providing adequate relief to the poor through several existing schemes.”
