The Congress released a list of 71 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections on Thursday. This list of 71 candidates has over 35 per cent young candidates. The Congress has given tickets to a total of 11 women candidates.  Standing by its decision, the Congress on Thursday gave senior Congress leader and Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections from Chandigarh.

According to information received from sources, the party atmosphere Commonwealth anti-corruption ticket scam accused Suresh Kalmadi is disconnected. Flights from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor receives the news.

Raj Babbar will contest from Ghaziabad and Rita Bahuguna Joshi from Lucknow. And Nagma will be contesting from Meerut.

Meanwhile, Congress has named Begum Noor Bano from Moradabad, KV Thomas from Ernakulam (Kerala), Subodh Kant Sahay from Ranchi (Jharkhand) and PC Chacko from Chalakudy (Kerala).

Shashi Tharoor will be contesting from Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Pawan Bansal from Chandigarh and V Narayanasamy from Puducherry. Shyam Sunder of Mayurbhanj, Orissa, Jharkhand’s Koderma to Giridih and Nazrul Hasan Hashmi and Umesh Chandra Mehta got the ticket.
