Dehradun Express catches Fire
In a shocking incident nine passengers including a woman were roasted alive when Mumbai Dehradun express caught fire near Dahanu town in Maharashtra. The fire erupted in one bogie probably s3 and is believed to have spread to other 3 bogies. The incident occurred around 2:30 am in the morning when everyone was asleep.
The train was speeding away and it was only after a guard at the level crossing noticed the fire and alerted the guard, the train could be stopped. By then the fire had spread to 3 coaches. The fire was brought under control in Gholwad station. Relief trains have been sent from Mumbai and Gujrat for rescue operations.
It is believed that that the people choked to death as all the windows of the train were closed it being a winter season. The number of casualties is expected to rise.
Top railway officials have reached the site and have ordered a thorough investigation of the entire incident. It is only after the investigation that the real cause can be identified, the officials said
