DLF Foundation organizes Annual Professional Scholar’s Conclave 2015 in Gurgaon
Taking a step forward in its contribution for the upliftment of the underprivileged children, DLF Foundation organized its Annual Professionals Scholars Conclave 2015 today in Gurgaon. The conclave was held under the aegis of its flagship initiative Talent Nurturing Program. Annual Professional Scholar’s Conclave 2015 celebrated the scholarly endeavors and achievements of its students .The conclave awarded and recognized the high achievers with Plaque, Cash Awards and Certificate of Commendation.
The Chief Guest of the occasion was Prof C.P. Shrimali, Director, Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon. Lt. General Rajender Singh, CEO,DLF Foundation, Mr. Ajit Sirohi, Executive Director, DLF Foundation, Mr. PK Joseph, Director Programmes, DLF Foundation, Mrs. Arti Ahluwalia, MD, Baltis Learning & Development, Dr. Vinay Sahani, IAS (Retd) Advisor DLF Ltd (CSR) & Member, Panel of Eminence, DLF Nurturing Talent Programme, Dr. Keezhangatte J. James, Former Professor, University of Hong Kong,Ambassador Skand Tayal, IFS (Retd), Former Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Republic of Korea, Former Director of IITs & Visiting Professor, East Asian Studies, Delhi Universit and Prof Kaushik Ranjan Bandhopadhyay, Associate Professor, Department of Business Sustainability TERI and Visiting Faculty United Nations University were also present on the occasion.
The Talent Nurturing Program works towards the education of children from disadvantaged and marginalized communities who often have to give up their education for lack of funds and family support. There are 74 professional scholars supported (47 currently studying and 30 have graduated till 2014-15) in the category of MBBS, Engg., IT, fine arts and sports. 45% of the scholars are girl children. Five states including Haryana, UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Delhi are covered by the professional scholarship programme. Over Rs. 4.5 crores being spent in the current year for the Nurturing Talent Programme and it would increase year after year.
While exhorting the remarkable efforts of the scholars Prof C.P. Shrimali, Director, Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon said “I congratulate DLF Foundation for their remarkable contribution towards the society. I am extremely happy to be with you all, you all are the future leaders and we hope that you will create a society where good health, education for all and equality exist.”
Speaking to the students Lt. General Rajender Singh, CEO DLF Foundation said “Our aspirations are in you, it’s in you that we will see India taking on to the world like never before.. Enhance your inner ability and that can only be done by making an effort. In order to excel in this competitive world you have to protect yourself in such a way that you stand out of the crowd. Be aware of your strong as well as weak points and believe in yourself and you will succeed. I hope this conclave will be fruitful for you and you all will achieve great success in your lives.”

Today we are conducting this conclave and I am proud to announce that 10 of our scholars are participating in Special Olympics in Los Angeles and one of them has already won gold medal in swimming. I thank all of you for being here and hope that you have enjoyed the conclave and wish you all the best for your future.” said Mr. PK Joseph, Director Programmes, DLF Foundation.
Apart from the felicitations of the achievers, Mock Interviews- Extempore & Role Play, workshops on Speech Orientation – Speech Clarity, Speech Expression were also organized for the students.

Sharing her journey Ms Pinki, who has successfully completed MBA from Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonepat having secured 72% in the program said “I come from a small village of Haryana and from a family where educating daughters is not what parents do. After my schooling I was not able to pursue higher studies due to financial as well as family issues. I want to Thank DLF Foundation, it’s because of them that today I am standing here and sharing my experience with all of you.”
Ramkripal Kumar, son of a farmer from Bihar. His father died few years back while he was in School has completed his B.Tech in EEE having secured 72.34% from GGS IP University, Delhi said “I am very thankful to DLF Foundation for their support for them it must be a small thing but for me it’s something that has changes my life and has shaped my future. After my father’s death I never thought that I would be able to pursue higher studies but DLF Foundation made this possible. ”
