DLF Gardencity comes alive with gala motor fest

Gurgaon, April 24: The sound of cars and bikes vrooming past each other reverberated as more than 100 motorsports enthusiasts thronged DLF Gardencity in Gurgaon. Titled ‘Speed Sprint XVI’, the sporting event tested vehicles limit as well as motorists’ ability on the track. The single stage sprint rally witnessed participation from across North India.

The event saw races held in three categories- Zip, zap and zoom. Zip race was for amateurs, zap for professional drivers and zoom for bikers. The race timings were determined with the help of laser beam accompanied by live feed results.

A huge crowd had gathered to cheer the rallyists, which added to the frenzy. The fest also promised a culinary delight with trendy food trucks offering scrumptious cuisines and mouth-watering street food. Later in the day, the evening came alive with scintillating live performance by a popular band.

Speed sprint at DLF Gardencity

“I have always been passionate about cars and was super excited to be part of the races today. The thrill of speeding and maneuvering the vehicle on the track can’t be expressed in words. It also offered a platform to bond with enthusiasts from different cities,” said Mr. Akash Ahuja, a participant at Speed Sprint XVI.

“Being an avid motorhead I thoroughly enjoyed watching the competition. Although I did not participate, you will definitely see me behind the wheels next time,” quipped Roopal Chauhan, a spectator.

“We are delighted that the event received such an overwhelming response. It was organized to give everyone an opportunity to indulge in motor sports. The one-day program included live music, food trucks and entertainment for all age groups. It was heartening to see that large number of people turned up to participate as well as enjoy the evening,” said Col. Tejbir Singh, AVP (Township), DLF.
