DMK Chief M Karunanidhi Admitted To Kauvery Hospital

DMK supremo M Karunanidhi was hospitalized late night after deteriorating health in the evening due to blood pressure issue. Lately he was undergoing treatment at his Chennai home.

Issuing a press statement his son MK Stalin said health of Karunanidhi is improving and urged the party workers not to believe on rumors.

Former union minister A Raja too confirmed the 94-year-old is out of danger.

However, following blood pressure issue family members shifted the veteran politician to Kauvery Hospital.

Kauvery Hospital executive director Dr Aravindan Selvaraj said, “His blood pressure has stabilized with medical management and he continues to be monitored and treated by a panel of expert doctors.”

Earlier today Stalin had talked about health improvement of Karunidhi with an appeal to party workers not to come at the Gopalapuram home to pay a visit to the party supremo.

Party workers and supporters in huge number gathered at the home in the evening. Later, many reached the Kauvery hospital too, which is about two kilometers away from DMK leader’s home.

Karunanidhi entered his 50th year as DMK chief a day before. Supporters also address him as Kalaignar, which mean artiste. He has served as chief minister of Tamil Nadu for five times.

The leader has been ill for over a yaer and earlier was tube-fed at Kauvery Hospital. He had contracted a urinary tract infection lately and this led to decline in his condition.

For past one year or more several politicians have been visiting the CM.
