England in strong position 5th test India vs England
The Bad luck of Indian cricket team continues as they end the Day 1 of 5th Test match against England on a very bad note. India was bowled out for 148 after England decided to bowl first. It was only Skipper MS Dhoni who showed a little courage and could stand against the mighty swing attack of England. England was comfortably at 62 for no loss at stumps on day 1.
It’s hard to predict what exactly is wrong with the world champions. Lack of consistency is the biggest factor behind the bad form. India seemed to struggle from the very first over. The entire top order collapsed when the score was not even 50. It was then when Skipper Dhoni stood tall and the team managed to cross 100 run.
Team India is known for its bad performance abroad but at a time when you have emerged as the world champions such excuses serves no purpose. Lack of discipline in the batting line-up is a big factor to be worried about. With batsmen like Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan in the side, they are still struggling to keep their head high.
India couldn’t have asked for a better start to the all-important England tour, when they were in the driver’s seat after beating the home side at Lord’s in the second Test. But after being pushed down in yet another Test at home, it seemed as if the beleaguered hosts would not manage to make a comeback in the five-match long series but the destiny was to change and as we know that cricket is a game of uncertainty, the uncertain did happen.
India will definitely look for a last comeback on day 2 of the 5th test against the mighty looking host side.
