The first cabinet meeting within 24 hours of oath-taking the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made range of decisions in favor of poor, farmer, unorganized labor and welfare of families of soldiers killed in terror attacks including Naxal attacks.

The decisions are significant as with related programme he gains political support at the bottom of social as well as economic pyramid.

He makes it clear on what path the second term of Modi government would walk over and making the statement of Congress president Rahul Gandhi wrong that Modi’s government was suit boot Sarkar.

Earlier Modi said his government was dedicated to the poor people of India.

Usually it has been seen a cabinet not is prepared by the ministry and related department proposes it to the Cabinet Secretary that further awaits consideration or approval by the PMO, but in the Modi’s second meeting it was clear what decisions are to be taken in the first meeting without delaying in the process.

However, it would be perfect here to say that the exercise was a PMO driven.

More to all these the first day decisions highlight expectations from the first regular budget that is to be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Lastly the election campaign promise of Modi to farmers is now fulfilled. The annual Rs 6,000 benefit to farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has been extended to cover universally to those who are engaged in agricultural activity.
