Google Launches Android 7.0 Nougat OS

And finally Google has launched the much awaited Android 7.0 Nougat and initially it will be rolled out to those who own Nexus devices – Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and Android One.

The roll out will be an over-the-air software update and with it the Doze will be getting an update too.

Doze was initially released in Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the feature makes the device in a semi-sleep mode to help save battery. Initially the feature was active when the device is not been touched for a long period. Now it will also work while the user is on the move.

With the updated users will get new Bundled Notifications feature as well as the new Direct Reply feature that helps in replying to messages directly from notifications without opening the messaging app.

Now notifications can be pressed to hold and call up the settings of individual app. Notifications coming from a specific app can also be silenced.

The multi-window feature has been added with the updated OS that will allow displaying of two apps side-by-side. It will work equally good on portrait as well as landscape orientations.

Data Saver feature will also be an added advantage for users with the updated OS to restrict apps from using cellular data in the background.
