Gurgaon witnesses 2015’s largest cultural and tech fest
The NORTHCAP University (previously ITM University) celebrated its 3 day extravaganza ‘Momentum 2015.’ The cultural and technical fest was filled with thrills and excitement, with a footfall of more than 5000 students from more than 20 government and private colleges including DTU, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, DU, Dayal Singh college, DU, Amity University, GD Goenka etc. Punjabi singers Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai enthralled the audience by performing on ‘Baapu Zimidar’and ‘Laden’ on the second day of the fest. ‘Where Mass Meets Velocity’ was the theme of the fest held from 29-31 October 2015 at the University premises. With over 100 cultural, technical and sports events, various offstage and onstage performances and a bouquet of professional workshops, the students enjoyed with much pomp and show.
The festival started with the inauguration ceremony by Pro Vice-Chancellor, Brig SK Sharma (Retd) and the Registrar, Col Bikram Mohanty (Retd) on 29 October 2015, celebrating the culture and tradition of India. NCU’s theatre society, Abhimanch and social service club, Yukti presented a lively show comprising dance and acting, which set the mood vibrant of all present. Students performed Haryanvi dance to celebrate the 49th Haryana day. They participated and enjoyed the different shows and games during Momentum. The other attractions included music and dance shows, Vh1 Supersonic, MTV Xtreme Allegro Battle of Bands, Witty Evening Live, war of DJs and various game shows. Students also made an excellent exhibition of the technical projects which was appreciated by the viewers. The projects that showed creativity and innovation of the engineering students were Robowars, Mindsparks, Circuit-o-mania, Tech treasure, Tech quiz etc.
Speaking at the occasion, Brig SK Sharma (Retd), Pro Vice Chancellor, NCU said, “Momentum is the annual event of NCU which showcases the extracurricular talent and skills of the students. Our students have presented a marvelous show, as in the past, showing a great sense of management, teamwork, leadership and competition. The events like this boost the spirit of the students and help them grow. We wish all the best to the students”

It was a great opportunity for us to interact with students from various other colleges.”
The second day of the fest witnessed fashion and dance shows that added glamour and allure to the event. Students from different colleges participated in the inter-college fashion show and presented a spectacular show. Students participated for winning the title Mr. and Miss. NCU, Mr. and Miss, Momentum and many more. The liveliest part of the festival was the energetic performance by the Punjabi singer duo, Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai. The audience were on their feet during the spectacular dancing and singing performance.
The festival ended with the prize distribution ceremony, rewarding the students for their skills, talent, organizing abilities and leadership. Momentum 2015, powered by TWIST was an enjoyable experience for the students, who participated with exuberance and enthusiasm.
