IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman returning tomorrow

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is willing to return Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman who was captured by Pakistan on Wednesday after an aerial combat between the fighter planes of both the countries.

Tensions at peak between India, Pakistan; IAF pilot missing

Pakistan foreign ministry spokesman said, “We are ready to hand over the Indian pilot if it leads to de-escalation.”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address during distribution event of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Awards, “The enemy tries to destabilize us, carries out terror attacks. They want to stop our growth. We all countrymen are standing like a rock to counter their evil designs.”

Khan’s announcement to return IAF pilot was surprising and came during his joint session Parliament speech.

He said, “As a peace gesture we are releasing Wing Commander Abhinandan tomorrow.”

Earlier today, sources said Indian government would not ask for consular access and there will be no deal in bringing back the IAF pilot.

Sources added, “If Pakistan thinks that they have a card to negotiate with, they do not.”
