India will held bilateral talks with Pakistan over PoK: Rajnath Singh

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India would hold bilateral talks with Pakistan on Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK).

He was speaking at a rally in Haryana’s Panchkula on Sunday hitting out at Pakistan for seeking United Nations and foreign countries intervention on Kashmir issue.

The minister said, “Article 370 was abrogated in J&K for its development. Our neighbour is knocking the doors of the international community saying India made a mistake. Talks with Pakistan will be held only if it stops supporting terror. If talks are held with Pakistan, it will now be on PoK.”

Rajnath Singh added that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said about a week ago that India is planning to take bigger than Balakot action against the country.

He said Imran Khan seems acknowledging now what India did in Balakot.

On August 5 India revoked Article 370 from Indian Constitution that used to provide special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Centre also bifurcated the state into two union territories – J&K and Ladakh.

Pakistan reacted reaching out to United Nations and several countries including United States and China with request to mediate on the Kashmir issue.

United Nations Security Council held a closed-door meeting on Friday over the Kashmir issue following requests of Pakistan and China. The meeting concluded without any outcome.

Following the meeting India’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Syed Akbaruddin said revoking of Article 370 from the Constitution was India’s internal matter.
