Indian VP Venkaiah Naidu Unveiled Rs 100 Coin

Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu unveiled today Rs 100 and Rs 10 coins on the birth centenary of musician M S Subbulakshmi and at an exhibition held to mark her legacy at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.

The Vice President also tweeted a photo of the two coins officially.

The exhibition is titled as Kurai Ondrum Illai in the honor of Subbulakshami and to run for about two weeks.

Born as Madurai Shanmukhavadivu Subbulakshmi is Bharat Ratna awardee and the first Indian musician to receive the Ramon Magsaysay award.

The Indian Carnatic singer was born on 16 September 1916 in Madurai, Mardras Presidency, and died on 11 December 2004 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, at the age of 88.
