Indo-China Tension To Disrupt Region: UAE

United Arab Emirates previews tension escalation between India and China on the Dokalam standoff would be highly disruptive for the two and neighboring countries and so it is better to resolve the issue amicably.

Anwar Gargash, minister of state for foreign affairs, said UAE is keeping an eye and hope both the countries would find a better way to resolve the Dokalam standoff issue.

Talking to Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj the minister said tension escalation will turn up disruptive for other countries in the region including UAE.

Gargash meanwhile also accused Qatar of trying to destabilise the Gulf region by supporting jihadist, terrorism and extremism elements, and it is better to abandon such destructive policy.

On terror attacks in India sponsored by Pakistan the minister said they are vocal against such terrorism and cannot be tolerated.

Gargash added that such terrorism need to be dealt with firmly and other nations too must come together in the combat against such menace. He also cautioned against politicisation of religion.

He continued that India and UAE ties have been lately intensified and the main focus now is cooperation on strategic and political sphere.

Talking about investment he said framework has to be put in place in the country for foreign investments.

He added, “I think we are working on this together. It will be a collective effort in order to make sure that our investments in India are on solid institutional ground.”
