Kerala Calls All CMs Meeting To Oppose Center’s Cattle Sale Ban
Kerala Government is learned to be convening all CMs meeting in the country to stand together against the restrictions impose on sale of cattle by the center.
The state Cabinet may also legally challenge the notification, but final action will be taken after a special session in the Kerala Assembly.
The imposed restriction on cattle sale is termed as anti-constitutional and anti-federal, said Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Adding further the CM said Narendra Modi Government has no right to frame rules as it is a state subject issue.
Vijayan said, “The state will convene a meeting of all the Chief Ministers at the earliest, to discuss the issue.”
A special session of the assembly will be held after consultation with the Opposition Leader, added the minister.
He further continued that final decision on approaching the apex court depends on consultation with legal experts.
The CM continued, “Whether the Centre has the right to frame such rules should be verified. The Centre is imposing the restrictions in violation of the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. It should be questioned legally.”
