TMC chief Mamata Banerjee scared of me: Modi

Kickstarting election campaign in West Bengal prime minister Narendra Modi made a scathing attack on ruling party Trinamool Congress and chief minister Mamata Banerjee saying the government in the state has killed aspirations of middle-class people.

Mamata Banerjee, Modi

Accusing Mamata Banerjee of attempt to trample democracy he said TMC is known for “tipple T – Trinamool Tolabaji Tax” in the state.

Act of organized extortion is somewhat termed as Tolabaji in local language in West Bengal.

Modi added the TMC chief should know such act didn’t work then and not to work now too as Centre will fulfill the dreams of people.

Continuing further while addressing to a rally in Thakurnagar the prime minister said Friday’s Interim Budget presentation is a reflection of his government’s policy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’

He said the middle class will benefit more from the budget. He talked about TDS for bank term deposits, income tax rebate, earnings from second property and more provisions.

Modi said those who assembled recently in Kolkata forming Opposition’s grand alliance had frightened faces due to him (calling him as chowkidar) as four years ago all were at each other’s throats and now they are embracing each other.

Talking about why the opposition abuse him the prime minister said the reason is his work against black money and Mamata Banerjee is scared of him.

Reassuring India is cleansed of corruption and black money the prime minister said, “Even members of the most influential family of this country are having to knock on court doors for evading taxes. Those who fled are being brought back one by one.”
