Master Chef held at DLF Gardencity

To celebrate the art of cooking, Master Chef, a culinary competition was organised on 07th May at DLF’s township DLF Gardencity in New Gurgaon. The event was conducted in collaboration with Select Hotels and Heritage Village Manesar. It generated immense enthusiasm amongst the residents and they turned up in huge numbers to showcase their culinary abilities.

The competition kicked off with the announcement of rules and regulations on conduct, ingredients and time allowed. The participants were informed that they could prepare a main course dish involving Fresh Cottage Cheese. They were permitted to tweak it with their choice of herbs and condiments to enhance the flavor and presentation.Workstations had been set up for each participant along with gadgets like Hot Plate, Fryer, Induction Plate, Sauce pan, Chopping Board etc. Besides flavour of the dish, the other criteria for judging the preparations included texture, presentation and creativity. Hygiene and cleanliness of their workstations were also included in judging parameters.

A special display of Organic vegetables was also organised by ARIISSE Farms.Chef Gaurav Mathur, Select Hotels was especially invited as the chief judge of the competition.

Ms. Smita Satpathy, an ecstatic winner said, ‘We are delighted that ‘Master Chef’ was held at DLF Gardencity. I have always been passionate about cooking but taking part in a competition was beyond my imagination. My family and friends encouraged me to participate in Master Chef and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. I was ecstatic when I was declared the winner of the competition. Undoubtedly, it was one of the happiest moments of my life’.

‘It was very exciting to be one of the judges of Master Chef. It was very encouraging to see that contestants were from different parts of the country and we got a chance to see huge variety of dishes. I am impressed that not only the dishes were palate tickling but special attention was also paid by participants on presentation’, said Chef Gaurav Mathur, Select Hotels.
