Modi referred Pakistan for terrorism at Howdy Modi event in Houston

It was an outstanding Howdy Modi event at the NRG Stadium on Sunday morning in Houston amid a warm Happy Birthday greeting by President Donald Trump to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who turned 69 on September 17.

The two leaders shared a stage for the first time and addressed to a gathering of about 50,000 Indian-Americans. Trump said Modi is doing an exceptional job in India and more than sixty million people voted overwhelmingly for him.

United States presidential election is due in 2020 and Trump said India will have a true friend in the White House if he is against elected as president.

Ethnically diverse Houston is a metropolis in Texas, which is a must-win state for Trump in 2020 election. The city is a ground zero in the Democratic Party’s inroads to the state.

Modi was in a yellow kurta and vest while Trump in dark suit at the Howdy Modi (as the event is dubbed with a Texan twang). Both made a grand entrance with arms clenched together.

Trump said, “We are committed to protecting innocent civilians from the threat of radical Islamic terrorism.”

Talking about terrorism and stripping of Article 370 from Kashmir the Indian prime minister made clear reference to rival Pakistan.

Modi said, “These people have put their hatred of India at the center of their political agenda.”
