Modi returns from three-nation tour, visits Arun Jaitley’s residence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered floral tributes Tuesday to a portrait of departed leader, former Union finance minister Arun Jaitley at his residence in New Delhi.

Arun Jaitley passed away on Saturday when Modi was on a three-nation tour. He returned today morning and visited the family members of the great BJP leader. He was received by union home minister Amit Shah and Jaitley’s son Rohan.

Modi spent about 25 minutes with the family members at Jaitley’s residence.

While addressing to Indians in Bahrain he said, “I Cannot imagine that I am here in Bahrain, while my dear friend Arun Jaitley is no more. Some days ago, we lost our former external affairs minister behen Sushma Ji. Today, my dear friend Arun went away.”

He had spoken to Jaitley’s wife and son over telephone on Saturday.

Arun Jaitley’s ashes were immersed by Rohan in Haridwar on Monday.

Meanwhile, it is learned about a dozen mobile phones were stolen during the cremation of Arun Jaitley on Monday at the Nigambodh Ghat including that of BJP MP Babul Supriyo.

Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala said a complaint has been filed at the Kashmere Gate Police Station.

Tijarwala added, “When all were paying their last tribute to Arun Jaitley, the phone from which this photo was taken, also gave me a final goodbye.”
