Modi to campaign for C P Radhakrishnan on April 8 in Coimbatore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a public rally in Coimbatore on April 8 alongside Chief Minister K Palaniswami and other state leaders. He will be campaigning for BJP candidate C P Radhakrishnan.

It is learned about five lakh people will be attending the public meeting of Modi at Codissia grounds and police said tight vigil would be maintained including bomb detection squad.

More than 2,000 police personnel would be deployed and the venue is just 4 km from nearest airport.

Meanwhile, among the fifteen contestants from the city’s Parliamentary constituency four are crorepathis including Makkal Needhi Maiam’s R. Mahendran with Rs 70.36 crore and C P Radhakrishnan at Rs 57.9 crore.

Out of fifteen 9 candidates have registered as independents and two of them are crorepathis – Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam candidate N R Appathurai with Rs 5.26 crore and V Krishnan at Rs 1.58 crore.

The lowest among richness among registered party candidate is Tamil Nadu Ilangyar Katchi’s P Manikandan with Rs 67,000.

The oldest candidate among registered party is CPI(M)’s P R Natarajan. He is 68. Appathurai is also 68 years old. The youngest in the segment is Manikandan. He is just 32.

M Dhanapal is the youngest among independent candidates. He is 26.
