‘Mysore Dasara being pramoted across India’
The Department of tourism has proactively taken measures to publicise Dasara not only in Karnataka but other parts of India as well to attract tourists. There has been an exemption of inter state entry tax on vehicles. Promotional activities such as publicity in in flight magazine, on line travel website and radio channels across the country, etc. have been undertaken. A live broadcast of the final day’s event will be broadcast on All India Radio.
The festival is also being promoted in the Airports of New Delhi, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Goa and at Delhi Metro train station.
We have Introduced a hop-on hop-off [HOHO] bus named “Mysore on Wheels” for a tour of city. The tourism Department is also planning to make a film on the intir Dasara celebration and showcase it at National and International fora. This year, the Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) of the tourism Department is setting up stalls on the them “Crafts of Karnataka” to showcase crafts from across the State. To facilitate tourism, the Karnatak State tourism Development Corporation [KSTDC] and the karnatak State Road Transport Corporation [KSRTC] has planned tour packages that will cover areas in and around Mysore.
