Next Call Of Duty Game To Be Developed By Infinity Ward
The next Call of Duty game is confirmed to be developed by Infinity Ward. A Twitter page messaged by the developer cracked the news, marking a return three years after their previous game.
Infinity Ward created Modern Warfare series.
Meanwhile, Activision has officially announced the upcoming game would be launched during the holiday season this year. It described the new CoD as innovative without giving any concrete detail about it.
The last new game of the studio was in 2013 – the Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Ghosts was also the first entry in blockbuster series for Sony’s PS4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One.
The Black Ops III of 2015 was developed by Treyarch and the 2014′s Advanced Warfare by Sledgehammer Games.
In a earnings call Activision said the upcoming CoD game may not fetch much money to the company as Black Ops III, but revenue from overall franchise may rise compared to last year.
Activision added a new Skylanders game will be coming up this year and two of its big holiday quarter games, Skylanders SuperChargers and Guitar Hero Live, performed below expectation.
Activision managed to pull $4.62 billion in revenue last year. In the calendar year of 2014 its revenue was $4.81.
