Nitin Gadkari files nomination from Nagpur; Poll on April 11

Union minister Nitin Gadkari filed nomination Monday for the Nagpur Lok Sabha seats believing to win with a bigger margin compared to 2014 elections when he defeated Congress leader Vilas Muttemwar by 2.84 lakh votes margin.

Polls in Nagpur are scheduled to be held on April 11.

The Bharatiya Janata Party veteran said, “This time, I will win with a bigger margin. People have a good opinion of the work done by the Narendra Modi-led government in the last five years. Our government did more than the poll manifesto.”

Accompanied by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, party workers and family members while filing nomination, the BJP leader said to people, “Your support and love is the biggest strength for us.”

Fadnavis said Gadkari will create a record in the state by registering a historic win from Nagpur.

He added the BJP-Shiv Sena together to register a win of 45 seats out of 48 in Maharashtra.

Congress leader Nana Patole will be taking on Gadkari from the seat.

Separately, sitting MP for Shiv Sena from Ramtek (SC) seat filed his nomination for the same constituency on Monday.

Tumane will face former IAS officer Kishor Gajbhiye at Ramtek seat.
