Finally it seems the controversy of Padmavati to come to an end. The much awaited Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie to hit theaters may come with U/A certificate with 26 suggested cuts from the censor board. And probably the title too will be changed, reports news agency.

The censor board statements read, “The film was approached with balanced view keeping in mind both the filmmakers and society. Considering complexities and concerns around the film the requirement for a special panel was felt by CBFC to add perspective to the final decision.”

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had earlier set up a special panel for the movie that included historians as the maker of Padmavati claims it is partially based on historical facts.

According to CBFC the panel consisted of Arvind Singh from Udaipur, Dr Chandramani Singh and Professor KK Singh of Jaipur University.

The 190-crore movie earned angry protests in Rajasthan in past few months resulting with non-release in the scheduled time. Groups like the Karni Sena claims the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed movie distorts their history as the 13th-century queen, Padmini, has been disrespected by showing her romantically involved with Alauddin Khilji, the Muslm invader to India.

However, Bhansali has always denied all such disrespect and it is also a fact the Karni Sena’s claims may not turn true as they have not yet seen the movie.

Meanwhile, the movie has been banned in several BJP-ruled states including Rajasthan.
