Pak PM Imran Khan to take commercial flight to Washington

Pakistan announced Friday Prime Minister Imran Khan to take a commercial flight to United States to attend first meeting with President Donald Trump in White House amid the country going through a major financial crisis.

Khan will be taking Qatar Airways on July 22, Saturday, for Washington. The three-day visit is to include meeting prominent members of the US Congress, members of the Pakistani diaspora and corporate leaders.

According to Special Assistant on Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan, the Pakistan prime minister would be accompanied by a small delegation including Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

To resume sustainable growth of Pakistan’s fragile economy the International Monetary Fund approved in June a $6 billion loan over a period of three years. It is hoped this would improve the standards of living of people.
