Pakistan not qualified country to criticize India over Article 370: Shashi Tharoor

Pakistan is not enough qualified to criticize India on the steps taken on Kashmir on August 5 when Article 370 was stripped from the Indian Constitution, Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor while speaking at the Pune International Literary Festival on Saturday.

The senior Congress leader is an MP from Kerala. He said differences between political parties do not matter when foreign policy is concerned.

Shashi Tharoor added, “I would like to send an implicit message outside. We may have differences within our country but when it comes to India’s interest, it is not BJP’s foreign policy nor is it Congress’ foreign policy. It is the Indian foreign policy.”

The member of parliament further said that he would continue attacking the BJP-led government on domestic issues but he feels Pakistan is least qualified to criticize India on the Kashmir issue.

Shashi Tharoor reminded what Pakistan has done to the PoK.

Talking about Narendra Modi he said the democratically elected prime minister must be given his due when he goes abroad irrespective of whether opposition like his politics or not.

He added that showing respect to India’s PM is showing respect to the institution of prime minister and also a respect to the Indian voter.
