Pakistan violated ceasefire twice Thursday, the seventh consecutive day, along the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector to target forward posts along the LoC and in Mendhar, Rajouri and Nowshera sectors. Heavy shelling was witnessed throughout night.

According to Defence PRO the Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation at about 0600 hours and Indian Army retaliated strongly.

A day before ceasefire was violated in Mendhar and Krishna Ghati sectors.

In 2018 there were about 3,000 ceasefire violations from Pakistan and it is counted as the highest times in past fifteen years along the border of India and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said today he is willing to return Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman who was captured by Pakistan on Wednesday after an aerial combat between the fighter planes of both the countries.

Earlier, key Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist who was believed to have masterminded the February 14 Pulwama suicide attack, one of the deadliest in India that killed 44 CRPF jawans, was shot dead in an encounter by Indian security agency that went for more than 12 hours.

Another militant, Hilal Ahmed, a local Kashmiri bomb specialist was killed too in the overnight encounter.
