Pathankot Air Force Base Attack A National Embarrassment?

The Pathankot air force base attack is a huge national embarrassment and has exposed the incompetence and inefficiency of Indian intelligence agencies. It has also exposed the lack of coordination among several agencies handling the operation in flushing out the terrorists.

The central intelligence agencies and police too failed to act swiftly and as an aftermath the country has lost a Superintendent of Police rank officer who was abducted along with his car. More to this, his friend was taken as a hostage and a driver was found dead too.

Apart from all these, it is suitable to say the authorities lost precious fourteen hours in analyzing the situation and planning search operations.

The most embarrassing is all these happened very close to one of the most heavily guarded International borders in the world.

It is being said the Jaish-e-Mohammed operated the attack causing intended damage and spreading fear across the country. The attack has also cost the lives of seven Indian soldiers and damaged reputation of the security forces.

The highest level embarrassment was the Sunday’s firing inside the air force base in Pathankot following the Centre declaring Saturday’s operation was over.
