Gandhi was reacting to the just released Economic Survey that shed impact of demonetisation and GST explaining Indian economy is picking up nicely and in 2018-19 to expand by about 7 percent to become fastest growing major economy in the world.

Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram too had hit out the Modi government saying the growth rate in 2017-18 would be about 6 percent.

He added there is little evidence supporting the claim of government that in the second-half of 2017-18 the growth rate would be 7.5 percent.

The senior leader continued, “The growth rate in the first half was 6 percent, and the year is likely to end with a growth rate of between 6 and 6.5 percent.”

Chidambaram further said that agriculture-GDP growth under the current government plunged 1.9 percent and this was half of the achievement under UPA government’s first four year.

Congress’s communications in-charge Randeep Surjewala said the just released Economic Survey establishes the current government is synonymous with distorting macroeconomic indices.

Surjewala added that the GDP growth is down, rural wages have declined, job creation is invisible and investment is low too.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi shared a video of song “Don’t worry be happy” too with his tweet.
