RJD-JDU Rift Leads Nitish Kumar Resignation; BJP Calls Party Meeting

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar resigned Wednesday citing he listened to his conscience while earlier in the day Lalu Prasad ruled out any resignation to follow by his son Tejashwi Prasad, who is the deputy chief minister of the state.

The RJD supremo blamed BJP for the present political crisis in Bihar saying, “The BJP is eagerly eyeing the return of Nitish Kumar with them… I am watching everything.”

Meanwhile, the BJP’s Parliamentary Board is expected to meet to discuss the new political crisis of Bihar.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the decision of Nitish Kumar and whether to back him.

Before resigning Kumar met with the lawmakers from his party.

Lalu and Tejashwi Yadav have been named in a corruption case and their properties were raided by CBI.
