SECOND MAJOR ACCIDENT IN A MONTH AT PUNE –SATARA HIGHWAY

Ten people were killed on Tuesday and 35 injured after a tourist bus en route Gujarat fell off a bridge on the Pune-Satara road in Maharashtra,  the accident occurred as the bus overturned while negotiating a sharp incline on the Khambatki ghat.

When the rescue operations were on to help the people stuck in the bus, a speeding container rammed into four vehicles present at the spot, causing a pile-up.

The injured were shifted to nearby government hospitals in Satara and Khandala. Seven women and three women were identified as the casualties in the accident. This is second such accident at the ghat in less than a month.
