After about three weeks of Pulwama terror attack the Navy Chief reveals terrorists can now carry out terror operations through sea.

Addressing a gathering of global experts Admiral Sunil Lanba added the terrorists are being trained how to carry out such deadly attacks through water bodies.

He added the February 14 Pulwama attack by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was aided by a country that wants to destabilize India.

Sunil was speaking at the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue in capital New Delhi and said, “We also have reports of terrorists being trained to carry out operations in various modus operandi, including through the medium of the sea.”

Recollecting the attack on Mumbai earlier, commonly called as the 26/11 terror attack, and said it was carried out by 10 sea-borne Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists.

The admiral added further that lately the world has witnesses several forms of terrorism and India has faced more serious version of state-sponsored terrorism.

He continued that India is a maritime country and lately the country has been focusing on harnessing potential of the maritime domain for growth and regional development.

The Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue seeks identifying and conceptualizing opportunities as well as challenges in the water and to come out with strategies for mutual benefits of stakeholders.

The admiral further said, “It is widely accepted that Indo-Pacific Region has been growing in geopolitical significance in recent years due to economic, political and other reasons.”
