To assure Devendra Fadnavis wins floor test BJP MLAs meeting tonight

Following the order of Supreme Court to conduct floor test tomorrow evening for the formation of Maharashtra government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has summoned all its 105 MLAs for a meeting to the Garware Club at Wankhede Stadium in south Mumbai tonight.

Talking to the media Union minister and senior BJP leader Rao Saheb Danve said the party is confident would be proving majority in the house in tomorrow’s floor test.

The apex court bench comprising of Justices NV Ramana, Ashok Bhushan and Sanjiv Khanna ordered a plea that challenged the manner in which Devendra Fadnavis of BJP and Ajit Pawar from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) took oath without any announcement on Saturday morning for chief minister and deputy chief minister offices respectively.

The bench said if there is a delay in floor test, possibility of horse trading increases and the Court may become incumbent to take action in protecting democratic values.

Immediately after the order Ajit Pawar met Devendra Fadnavis at his residence.

The court also ordered to appoint a pro-tem speaker to conduct the floor test. Regular speaker should not be looking after the procedure.

Also, ahead of the floor test the oath taking of MLAs need to be completed, added SC.
