Train services to resume Tuesday in Kashmir
Train services in Kashmir is said to be resuming tomorrow, Tuesday. It was disrupted since August 3, two days ahead of the abrogation of Article 370 from Indian Constitution that ended provided special status to the Valley.
According to a Northern Railway official, the Firozpur Division will be commencing Tuesday a limited passenger service and just two pair of trains would be running between Srinagar and Baramulla between 10 am and 3 pm.
The official added the measure to resume train services in the Valley came after appropriate action and assurance by GRP regarding sefe operation in J&K.
Centre revoked Article 370 from the constitution on August 5 and bifurcated the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories – Ladakh and J&K.
The official further said, “After appropriate action and assuance by Government Railway Police of Jammu and Kashmir regarding the safe operation of trains in Kashmir Valley between 10 am an 3 pm.”
