TrueCaller To Facilitate Fund Transfer Partnering With ICICI
Caller identification app Truecaller has partnered with ICICI Bank in India and offer additional features to its users including funds transfer through Unified Payment Interface (UPI).
This would help more people in the country to get on the digital payment infrastructure. Its Truecaller Pay for pre-paid as well as post-paid feature could enable recharge of mobile phones too.
The company is also looking ahead to offer video calling and secure payments partnering with Google.
The Swedish company has tied up with Airtel carrier to bring caller ID to the users.
Co-founder and CEO Alan Mamedi said until now they have been successful in building a mobile identity platform and more people are relying on them.
Senior general manager and head, Digital Channels, ICICI Bank, Abonty Banerjee, said the new feature will help in extending the mobile payment facility further.
Banerjee added, “With this new service, users will get the benefit of making quick and easy payments to any mobile number registered with the BHIM app, thereby enabling them to reach out to a wider section of people. We believe this association will also play a crucial role in strengthening the Government’s ‘Digital India’ mission.”
