Apart from the new assessment, the Donald Trump government has also put the country in the third category along with declaring regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) as most dangerous to visit and are placed under fourth category.

The new assessment released on Wednesday warns citizens the terrorist groups are active in Pakistan and could attack without any warning.

In recent months the relations between US and Pakistan have been nosedived and Washington accused the country of not doing enough to crackdown on terrorist groups.

US has stopped military aid to Pakistan with the clause to resume if enough actions are taken against the home-grown terror outfits.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Defence Minister said Wednesday the intelligence and military cooperation with the US has now been suspended.

Analysts believes pressure on Pakistan by United States in terms of less aid this year may bring the country closer to China.

Official media report published in the Global Times adds the move of Trump may boost ties between Pakistan and China, which has already stepped up investments in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
